There is no rhythm here, it's just mostly quiet and subdued. This has always been my least favorite Season releases even though summer is my favorite season. There is a lot of echo, and you can hear a indiscernible and processed voice that sounds like it is echoing through a dark hallway. Videos for all four songs have been released. If you have yet to hear Lacuna Coil then this is essential, and if you are a fan they you must already have it.

If you by chance are seeking something that has musical and non-musical elements and takes you down the rabbit hole into a darkened tenebrous sonic universe that incorporates aspects of droning, tape loops, minimalism, glitch and chaos all conspiring to create an occult soundtrack into some very bizarre initiation ritual, then you cannot go wrong with this collection of sonic demons that will make you trip without using drugs. Again, this is very spooky and unsettling. Exciting, dynamic and powerful, this is Lacuna Coil at their very best. This sparseness continues most of the way through, but towards the last few minutes, strange electronic noises start to take over the track until it obliterates the drone and vocals that have been dominating the song. It is very angular, obtuse and melodically oblique. You can also find the entire cycle on the release 'Moon's Milk in Four Phases '. While many of the tracks revolve around the repetitive industrial themes that add layered elements, the Hellraiser tracks are less rhythmic and based in more eerily macabre settings as if a more depressed version of Goblin's cranked out a soundtrack in depressed somnambulation. This time around the musical backing is pretty decent, which makes all the difference with this sort of deal, and whilst despite the title it doesn't quite put me in a reverie it's still a fun enough example of the style of gothic metal it represents, and a cut above the general standard of this particular subgenre at that.
Strings provide a drone like sound while keyboards provide atmosphere, keeping things cold and mostly dark.
